27 Nov 2020 in First Team
As per the news from National Government on Thursday 26th November we were informed that the combined North East authority was to be placed under Tier 3 restrictions, the highest level there is. As part of these restrictions it was confirmed that crowds are not able to attend sporting events at all. This unfortunately means that football at our level is adversely affected at least until the next review on 16th December.
We have today been informed by the Northern League Management Committee that at this stage it is simply not financially viable to expect clubs to play without spectators being present. Consequently it has been decided that the league is suspended for a further two weeks and reviewed on 16th December in line with the government review. As a club we fully support this action and appreciate the quick decision from the league.
We have yet to receive any further guidance from the Football Association with regards to our proposed FA Vase tie at Charnock Richard next weekend. The club will release further information when available.
Thank you to our sponsors, supporters, volunteers and playing staff for their continued support and patience. It is very much appreciated.
