Ashington FC’s 2016/17 season may not have gone according to plan or expectations on the pitch but off it Woodhorn Lane football secretary Gav Perry had a faultless campaign. Gav’s meticulous work saw him go through the entire term without incurring an administrative penalty - and he was duly recognised for his efforts at the Ebac Northern League’s Annual Dinner which was held at Ramside Hall. Ashington-born Gav, 28, said: “Keeping on top of all of the requirements by the League, County FA and National FA is a big task and I am delighted to have been one of only ten clubs in the Northern League to avoid any administrative errors during the whole of last season.” The other nine clubs to receive the prestigious award were: North Shields, Sunderland Ryhope CW, West Allotment Celtic, Whitley Bay, Billingham Synthonia, Brandon United, Crook Town, Northallerton Town and Tow Law Town.
Meanwhile Ashington FC season tickets are now available for the forthcoming campaign priced at £90 adults (single payment) and £30 for juniors/concessions. Anyone interested in applying online should email the club at firstname.lastname@example.org for a form to be sent.
