Harmison: Harmison: "We have got to be fully focussed"

By Brian Bennett

Ashington FC joint manager Steve Harmison welcomed the prospect of his side having home advantage in both the major FA competitions. The Woodhorn Lane outfit begin the season by hosting Sunderland Ryhope CW in the extra preliminary round of the Emirates FA Cup on Saturday August 5 before Easington arrive in Wansbeck for a tussle in the first qualifying round of the Buildbase FA Vase on September 9. Harmison said: “You want home draws - and that’s exactly what we have got. We take on a Newcastle United XI on the Tuesday night beforehand and it will be a respectful build up ahead of the Cup clash. ” He continued: “We will be making sure that the players are fully focussed and ready. Sunderland Ryhope CW are a good side and we lost against Easington in the Vase last year because we did not perform well on the day.”
