It might have been 2:45pm before Bowey made it to Woodhorn Lane on Saturday due to a punctured tyre, however following the game he took the time to praise every member of his team: “Credit to the players today, there was some outstanding performances and I couldn't pick a man of the match because the whole team were excellent throughout”. He continued “Lee Scott has been in and out of the squad since joining us so to get two goals today; I'm over the moon for him.”

Bowey was also complementary of the visitors following his teams 4-0 victory saying: “Credit to Seaham, the have a youngish team with some experienced players alongside, but their heads never went down throughout the 90 minutes. They had their chances today but just couldn’t finish them off. People will probably forget about Conor's save in the first 10 minutes when it was still 0-0, but that was a big changing point of the game”.

Steve was also pleased that although the team was down to the bare bones due to a mixture of injuries, suspensions and holidays, that they were able to perform well in difficult conditions. “We're all part time, and we all have jobs, but we put a lot of work into team performances and have worked on shape in training to take this forward. Dale Pearson today ended up at left back and still got a cracking goal whilst playing out of position.” Steve finished off by assuring everyone the he feels the squad is going in the right direction: “I'm happy with the performances and I'm happy with the results which makes me a happy man!”
